
CHICAGO (July 14, 2009) – Mid-America Asset Management, Inc. has signed restaurants to two Chicagoland shopping centers in separate transactions: Buffalo Wild Wings at Church Street Plaza in Evanston and Harold’s Chicken at Evergreen Park Towne Center in Chicago.
Buffalo Wild Wings is expected to open later this year and Harold’s Chicken opens this month, according to Richard Spinell, Principal of the Oakbrook Terrace-based firm, which is the exclusive leasing representative for the two centers.
Here’s Wings II—Evanston, d.b.a. Buffalo Wild Wings, leased 8,430 square feet at Church Street Plaza, located on Maple Avenue in downtown Evanston, a North Shore suburb of Chicago. The Minneapolis-based franchise, which lists nearly 600 locations nationwide, is known for its Buffalo-style chicken wings covered in one of 14 signature sauces. Mid-America Vice President Liz Krebs represented the landlord in the transaction, while Gil Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Commercial represented the Tenant. The 175,000 square-foot Church Street Plaza is anchored by Century Theatres, Borders, Cost Plus World Market, and Urban Outfitters.
Chicago’s well known South Side restaurant chain Harold’s Chicken signed a lease for 1,200 square feet at Evergreen Park Towne Center on the southwest corner of 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. Harold’s Chicken Shack was originally developed by Harold Pierce, a Chicago entrepreneur, in 1950, and the chain remains a staple in Chicago, while expanding to other national communities. Mid-America Leasing Representative Jaime Platt represented the landlord in the transaction, dealing directly with the tenant. Other tenants at the 7,859 square-foot Evergreen Park Towne Center include H & R Block, Edible Arrangements, Pretty Nails and US Cellular.
