Mid-America Brokers Sale of Bloomfield Plaza in Michigan
January 8, 2025
Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales Group recently brokered the sale of Bloomfield Plaza, the premier retail destination serving the affluent Detroit suburban communities of Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills, Franklin, and Birmingham. The 100% leased, 151,673 square foot grocery-anchored center was sold to a private investor.
Anchored by Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace and Trader Joe’s, and complemented by Andiamo Italian, CVS, Planet Fitness, and Sephora, Bloomfield Plaza is one of most iconic retail centers in the Detroit area, having served the community since 1957. The center is positioned at the southwest corner of Maple and Telegraph Roads, two major thoroughfares that see combined traffic counts over 104,000 vehicles per day. Bloomfield Plaza serves one of the most exclusive, affluent demographic profiles in the entire Midwest region: 48,000 residents with average household incomes of $230,000 and median home values of $610,000 within a 3-mile radius of the center.
Mid-America Real Estate Corporation Principals Ben Wineman, in cooperation with Mid-America Real Estate – Michigan, Inc Principal Daniel Stern, were the exclusive listing brokers in the transaction on behalf of the seller, the family owners of Bloomfield Plaza’s original developer. The purchaser was represented by Jack Berke of Taylor Real Estate Services.
